Well folks it’s almost time for the 2024 L&OBMBC season to kick off!!

As the evenings brighten and the temperatures improve we are hopeful of a fantastic 2 days of racing on Sunday the 5th and Bank Holiday Monday the 6th. For the first time in many years, and due to good race entries, we will see FIVE classes competing as follows:

GT15 Monohulls - 9-16 years olds (boys and girls) with speeds up to 40mph racing over the short, challenging up & down course with practice and 3 heats on both days.

GT30 Monohulls - 14 years and above (male & female) racing at 50+mph over the “North Bay” course. 3 heats of 6 lap races with extra practice on both days.

OSY400  Hydroplanes - fast, close, exciting racing on the traditional 2/3 mile circuit with clock starts. These competitors will demonstrate their skill with the craft achieving just over 60mph.

Racing Outboards - in some eyes the pinnacle race craft, the excitement will be provided by 3 laydown modern day Formula 250’s racing at 100mph, a “Classic” O350 from the 1980’s and the very fast, tight cornering Formula 500 that will tear around at 100+mph, in addition the crowds will be treated to the lovely smell of Methanol!!

Sportsboats - mixed racing from the tightly grouped Formula 4’s with the added excitement of the Formula 2 on the tricky North Bay circuit with speeds of 115mph.

Racing starts at midday Sunday and Monday with free entry to the park all day Sunday and gate charges applying on Monday - £6 for adults, £3 for kids/OAP & £15 for a family of 4 (2 adult/2 kids).

We’d like to very much thank BM97 Racing for being our trophy sponsor of the event.
